Stepson doesn’t sleep.

For reference, my boy is 4 years old and level 3. He’s big for his age, over 50 pounds.
His doctor reccomended melatonin every night for sleep since he has a tendency to only sleep for 4-5 hours and go all day without a nap. When he wakes up the entire house has to wake up or he’ll have meltdowns.

He’s been taking this for a couple months and he’s now on 2-3mg. His younger sister hadn’t napped at all today, their dad was at work and their bedtime is 7. I called my MIL at around 6 to let her know both the kids went to bed early, my stepson was tired and went and put himself down so I went ahead and gave him 2mg of melatonin.

At around 12:50 AM, I’m awakened to this scream he does (it’s kind of like “Ah! Ah! Ah!”, he likes the echo in his room and that’s also what he does when he wants to wake his sister up alongside kicking her.)

Me, exhausted and frustrated went in there and gave him 2 extra mg of melatonin considering I walked in on him kicking his 3 year old sister in the head because he didn’t want her sleeping anymore.

I’m kind of panicking because I’m worried I gave him too much. It’s the children’s melatonin gummies, I made sure to grab two of the 1mg gummies for him each time.

ChatGPT scared the shit out of me and I just need some reassurance.
