Hiring someone is a nightmare
I used to be a full time pet sitter for years so I know how it goes. Our sitter we use moved away so now I’m trying to find a sitter for our dogs when we go on vacation soon and boy has it been hard.
I messaged one girl and she said she would need be to book dates right away to lock in her dates which I said I didn’t feel comfortable with that I would like to meet her beforehand so I can make sure it is a good fit, I’m sorry maybe I’m old fashioned but I definitely want to meet the person taking care of my animals and who is going to be coming in my home? After I said I’d like to meet before booking she told me she didn’t have time for meet and greets then blocked me on the app I was using . Now I’m messaging with a new person and I again told her I need to do a meet and greet before booking and of course she immediately presses the book button and then asked me today “are you going to book soon” even though I told her I need to meet her first. 😭😭😭
I can’t believe sitters are just openly taking bookings before meeting dogs and owners.
