Which season fortnite stopped being a proper Shooter?

I don't expect this post to gather too much attention or praise, and it isn't a rant, just a problem (considering my taste) that i noticed in this season, where the gameplay feels more like a playground, and less like a proper shooter.

The first time i properly played the BR mode was during the chapter 1 season 5, and kept playing until the release of chapter 2, only to return with the release of zero build, that made me hooked and made me waste a good amount of hours, but i got bored by the time of chapter 4. I downloaded again last week to get the Tracer skin, but i found the game too "gooffy", with a lot of items being more reliable than guns, while most guns doesn't feel fun to use it.

Atleast for me, it feels more like a game where i'm playing with action figures, than a proper shooter.

So my question is: When the turning point happened? Where the game stopped being about shooting people and looting , and more about whacky stuff with insane mobility and item effects?

Is the Hullcracker currently bugged?

Yesterday i got downed at swamps by a couple of fireflies. While i was shooting it, i could SWEAR that the hullcracker bullet simply clipped through the Firefly thrusters. I noticed this also happening while i was shooting surveyors last week, but i thought it could be simply my imagination.

Maybe it's a server issue, or the hullcracker bullet "hitbox" actually has this issue?
