Issues sanding/shaping frames

Im making fairly standard frames out of g10, micarta and aluminum cores. Once the frames are assembled (with heavy duty 2 part epoxy) I usually use a drill press or similar rotary tool with sanding wheels etc to shape and smooth out. The past few frames have been coming apart when sanding due to, im assuming, the heat generated from sanding melting the epoxy. The epoxy gets soft and the layers of the frame start sliding around. Anyone else run into this? Seems like it's happening even though epoxy has cured for 48+ hours. I usually install pins last, maybe thats the problem?

A few more OTT frames made from leftover materials. Micarta is made from old felt from probably early 90s found at local thrift store. Diy carbon fiber from a leftover roll cut to rough size and put in diy micarta press with boat epoxy. Recycled t6 aluminum and scraps of toxic green, clear and marbled blue acrylic from Amazon. All held together with 2 part epoxy. The carbon fiber was fun to make...much less so to work with. Happy shooting friends!
