What started as a normal CAT aspirants Whatsapp group slowly turned into something uncomfortable for multiple women involved a person in these groups allegedly used emotional and “friendly” conversations to get close to girls through DMs, only to later send inappropriate messages and objectify them when the attention wasn’t reciprocated.
What’s more disappointing is how casually the situation was reportedly treated when confronted being brushed off as “adventure,” jokes, or “post-breakup behavior.”
This is not about painting every MBA/CAT group in a bad light. Many communities are genuinely helpful, supportive, and filled with good people. But pretending every space online is completely safe would also be dishonest.
Please be aware and cautious while joining random groups or interacting privately with strangers online, even if the group initially seems academic or career-focused. Respect, boundaries, and accountability should exist in every community online or offline.
IIM Mumbai has brought a new policy restricting it's students to post anything about the college on social media. Especially related to placements and hostel/mess conditions.
What a democracy we live in!

These numbers are from last week’s update, not the current one posting this to know where the latest waitlist movement has reached now.
One VARC habit that genuinely helped me: I stopped trying to memorize vocabulary.
I read during commutes, mostly articles from Aeon. Whenever I see a new word, I note it down and make 2-3 sentences around it instead of cramming meanings.
That’s what helped me remember words better not definitions, but situations then I revisit those words at night or the next morning. I still forget many of them sometimes, so repetition matters.
At what point do authorities stop treating these as isolated incidents and start fixing the system properly?
Last year, students reportedly had to struggle through extreme summer heat without proper assistance or management support. There were protests, students sleeping in mess areas, and continuous complaints about facilities and living conditions.
Now this year, students are talking about admission offer glitches and confusion again this is an IIM students come here with massive expectations, loans, pressure, and career dreams attached to the brand. The least they expect is proper administration, communication, and basic student support.
Instead, every few months another issue surfaces online and students are left managing stress, uncertainty, and chaos themselves.
