Insensitive
Maybe magkaiba tayo ng POV and take in this case pero let me share mine.
Yesterday was the oath taking for newly licensed RPhs (Congrats po sa lahat!!), as an attendee - who’s an RPh as well — the keynote speaker’s last take didn’t sit well with me.
Nung unang part ng talk niya it was very good; policies, public health, pharmacists sa barangay, etc.. (but may take din ako here na sana if we want to push for more RPhs serving publicly, sana salary grade muna pagusapan naten, but that’s for another story).
What didn’t sit well with me and even for the many who were behind me, because naririnig ko sila, was the keynote speaker’s words towards the school who secured 6 places sa Top 10:
If I may quote: “Nagtira pa kayo”
This statement was very insensitive towards the other 4 RPhs and schools who was placed sa Top 10. Ano, ang lagay eh hindi nila deserve yung place na yon?
Yes, that’s an achievement for your school, pero sana let us not discredit nor say such words towards those others who also worked hard for it. Ang sad lang kasi, you hold a higher position yet your words are insensitive towards others.
Yes, take it as a challenge daw for other schools ika-nga niya pero this could’ve been said in a much sensible and kinder way.
Idk, that’s my take and even my family’s take on it. Even those behind me were saying the same things.
Minamaliit na nga yung profession naten so bakit pati tayo ganyan towards each other? Di naman masamang i-celebrate yung own success naten, pero di din masama na i-celebrate yung success ng iba kasi pinaghirapan din naman nila yon.
Ang sad lang.
