A leap of faith. (2 year progression)

Perhaps not long-term progression per se, as I have the tree since only two years, while first pic is from last years post. This was my first tree which I also bought from a bonsai shop, already in the pot.

After gaining some more experience and acquiring some of my own taste I found myself unhappy with the state of it. The pot, the apex and the second branch didn't agree with me. So working on those things was quite a leap of faith and I was afraid that I've made a mistake, but as the tree recovers, it seems to be doing good and seems to appease my eye.

I was reading on shari and Jin being rather unconventional on decidous trees. Here you see my first attempt at shari, which, again perhaps was a risky and uninformed decision.

Edit: This being an Ash tree

Chinese Juniper Help

Hi guys, I have been plaguing myself with how to move forward with this guy. I just dont see a vision or the potential. The more I look at it the more I'm persueded to just jin the bottom two branches and just work with the main trunk that already has shari, but then that might be a little radical and I fear I would regret it. But also I'm not sure if I like the angles of the bottom two branches so... idk. Any input helps, thanks :)
