M-Flash BIOS Update running for almost 12 hours

M-Flash BIOS Update is updating for 11 full hours!

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D

Mainboard: MSI MEG X570 UNIFY

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT

RAM: 2x 16 GB DDR 4 sticks

2x 1 TB SSDs

Windows 11

BIOS version VA.E1 (old one around 2022) to VA.N1 (2025)

Update from the MSI Website, newest available one. Put it on a USB stick (formated to FAT32). Followed the instuctions (unpacked ZIP-File, did NOT rename it, put it on the USB stick in the main directory, not in a folder).

Only things left plugged in are the mouse, keyboard and USB for my wireless Headset.

Update stick is plugged in the back panel not in the front panel.

M-Flash BIOS Update started without a problem and went fine to 10% then it slowed down. After 20-30 minutes it reached around 20% and then it slowed down even more.

Update started at 5:30 pm and at 1:30 pm it was at 71%. Unsure at what to do i waited till almost 3am (!) at that point it only gained 2% up to 73% total.

Me being tired and freaked out i went to bed and let it run. At 12 pm i checked it and it was at 75% wich it is still now.

CPU temp/ RPM are updating. Atm 37°C/98°F, 923 RPM. USB is warm to the touch.

I am so unsure what to do. I'm not well versed with anything tech. Should i let it sit for another day? Or risk it with a shutdown and then BIOS Flashback via the Flashback button?

Why the BIOS Update?

- MEMORY_MANAGEMENT bluescreens

-it crashes and the reboots immediately

-Problems with programms( league of legends and riot vanguard) crashes, hangups and "files need to be repaired"

-one SSD is missing even in BIOS (but tbh i have no idea when that happened because i never used it

-Windows event viewer showed things like volmgr error and Kernel-Power 41 (was completely new territory for me as a tech noob)

What was Done to fix it?

-New installation of Windows 11

- i let the windows RAM check run (showed Hardware problems)

-reseated the RAM sticks

-tried the other RAM slots

-tried other sticks

- XMP in BIOS off

Any tips on what to do are welcomed.

Little Update: while typing it jumped up to 76%
