6th gen accord J series heat soak
I have a 2000 Accord v6 coupe. J30A1, and every time i want to go cruise around or stop at some places i always have to carry around some water to pour on the rails to get the car to run again. So what happens --- I start the car, drive for a bit up to temp, i park it or let it idle in place for too long itll sputter and have nearly no power and sometimes stall out until i pour water on the rails or let it cool off. My radiator fans kick on when theyre supposed to. I can ALWAYS recreate the issue by just letting it idle in place until it stalls out eventually. Im TIRED OF IT. I love this car but ive done everything and im scared that now just j32 swapping it might be my way to go.
Everything ive done:
- 2000 Odyssey rail swap
- Hondas "Official fix" high pressure FPR
- Injectors (OEM reman)
- Denso Fuel pump
- different gasses, Non eth, 91, 87, shell, cheveron ect (NEVER NO NAME)
- Insulating the rails
- Cleaning out the lines from end to end
- Insulating entire lines
- ECTs, IATs, EGR replacements
- Charcoal canister, Vent & Purge valve
- Cleaned plenum completely of carbon
- Scoped all cylinders of carbon
All sensors live data is true and reads well. Fans kick on around 200F and turn off at around 185F
All of this and rebuilt the transmission. I thought hondas were reliable i cant let my buick outlive this car man.
By now ive spent more money on this single problem than the car is worth. Its my first car i don't want to get rid of her yet. If ANYONE knows ANYTHING please let me know. All known fixes have not fixed it. I'm tired of the misfires and the worry of stalling out in traffic or coming out of Walmart to pour water on it.
