Driving home last night from seeing fireworks. Had bad heavy rain and the highway was completely flooded. Couldn’t see shit, ran into about a foot and a half deep water and my cold air intake sucked up a shit ton of water.
Just took apart the front end to try and drain as much water as possible. Leaving it off to dry overnight. Its the 1.5L turbo on the 10th gen si. Took spark plugs out, its shooting massive amount of water out. Engine still turns over. Intercooler was filled with water.
Just want to know what to expect or what i could possibly do insurance wise
I have a 2007 2.4l accord. The valve cover gasket is leaking, and ive heard that while the cover is off its best to do a valve adjustment, but ive never attempted it before. The car has 294k km, and had the " recommended maintenance" at 164k according to its service history, which should include a valve adjustment. Is it necessary for me to do it? Or am i okay to just do the valve cover gasket?
This little arm thing on the outside of a 2002 Honda accord tensioner pulley?
‘‘Twas missing on a car I bought and saw it when putting a new head on.
Really would like a name and a part number if possible.
Looking for part #10
I have a 2026 Honda CR-V EX with a gas-only engine. The gas models do not come with a heat and soundproof mat in the hood, while the hybrid version does. Has anyone successfully added the hood pad to the gas-only version of the CR-V? r/crv
From a 1984 Honda Gold & Black 4‑speed hatchback, to a Honda 1992 Black 5‑speed sedan, from 2000 till March 2007 I owned a car I will not plug. But I will say this: I was grateful it was killed by a drunk driver.
That wreck gave me the down payment for the only car that ever truly fit my life — the 2007 Honda Fit Sport I’ve kept alive for nineteen years. Over 458,000 miles on that car. All Honda parts. All Honda service. All loyalty.
Three Honda's across four decades — all leading to June 27th, 2026, the day I brought my Fit in for the quoted repair: $1,200 for an alternator, $395 for labor, 15% discount. That’s the price I was told, directly, clearly, right in front of me, and a parts employee.
And that’s the day I watched a dealership erase forty‑two years of loyalty in one repair.
I wasn’t given a loaner because I’m “not a Premium Buyer.” But I’ve spent premium money keeping my 2007 Honda Fit Sport alive with Honda parts and Honda service. I was told by the service manager that too many people damaged the loaner cars.
I never damaged anything. But this isn’t just the dealership’s attitude — it’s America Honda Motor Inc. They have failed me. And they failed many others when they killed the least‑expensive Honda — the one people like me, who never made over $30,000 a year, could actually afford.
In 1984, I bought my first Honda hatchback with a 13% bank loan because the bank said I was a risk. Never missed a payment. Fucking banks. In 1992, I bought a 5‑speed 4‑door sedan with another bank loan — rate much lower than the 13% on my first Honda.
Then in 2000, Honda had nothing I wanted, so I bought a cash‑cow 5‑speed 2‑door hatchback with heated seats and a TDI. That car was totaled on a street — no one in it — by a rich drunk woman.
Her insurance gave me the down payment for the car I still drive when working: my 2007 Honda Fit Sport, automatic, 4‑door hatchback.
The best car America Honda Motor Inc. ever let come to America until they killed it in 2020 during COVID‑19. God, what real idiots.
Now I wait until Monday, July 6th, 2026, when I should get my car back. But it’s already too late for my thyroid ultrasound at Baptist MD Anderson. Too late for JOI rehab on July 1st. Too late to feed my friend’s cat on July 4th and July 5th.
All because I was never given a loaner — because America Honda and the local dealership decided it was better for a disabled SSDI customer to get hosed instead.
I have a 2009 Civic LX 4 door - 1.8L auto, was thinking of changing spark plugs, as carfax had no record of any previous replacement. Removed the old one from one cylinder to see if it's worn, help me understand if these are in bad condition or not. TIA.
I just noticed this today and I have no idea how it got like this. Could it be the sun? Is this repairable?
Looking at this car. The owner has a Carfax with a decent amount of service history and says he replaced the drive belt, timing belt, belt tensioner, and water pump within the past year.
He wants just under 14k, which seems high to me, but I also have no idea what number would make it a good deal to me since kbb estimations don't take into account recent repairs and the subjective sense of security from having service records
From what I saw, this year was pretty reliable overall so that sounds amazing.
It would be my first honda and my first time buying a car privately.
Any idea Acura heads what I’ll end up making NA with a good tune before slapping Gerzy supercharger? This is for my 2010 TL 6 speed. Been building this for around 4 years almost and will be back on the road in a few months. Here’s most of its parts list.

A lot of people still think the Accord Hybrid uses some kind of CVT or DCT. It doesn’t. This is the real two‑motor e:HEV system straight from Honda. (not a CVT) Thanks to Hot_Tradition_7591 for the clarification!
Someone ran into my car and I’m at fault, nobody is hurt. There’s front wheel and body damage to my car but it’s still running. I’m absolutely not a car person and haven’t been in this situation before. I don’t have collision insurance so I was thinking sell/tow this to a salvage place paying me $850 right now or try getting it repaired although it’s only a $6500 car. Please if anyone knows the way 🙏 thank u
This is the utter truth, Honda was one of the first companies to introduce lane (Blindspot camera).
I have been so pampered with this tech that I just look at the screen and make a decision to change lanes.
I don't think I'll ever be comfortable driving anything else without it or something similar which be different.
Just picked up a 5th Gen off Facebook Marketplace.
This is my first ever Honda. It’s sitting on some Konig Control wheels and has some coilovers but I can’t seem to make out the brand. No other mods. Interior is mint aside from some old and brittle carbon vinyl wrap on the trim.
Bushings, bearings, hoses, and underbody look absolutely solid. No play on anything that we could grab a hold of. Minimal underbody rust, no signs of rotten frame or body.
Paint could use a lot of TLC, and a few touchups. No cracks, breaks or large dents in any of the bodywork.
Car drives straight as an arrow. No weird rattles, shakes or vibrations.
Transmission is the only issue, hence the price. She drives but the transmission (automatic) seems to slip and knock once the car gets warm. Looks like transmission fluid is leaking, presumably once the car is warm. Will look to take it apart and go from there.
I was given absolutely no history of the car or information on how many previous owners it has had etc.
For $2200 I pretty much bought a set of wheel/tires and a car came with it!
Just bought this car used and it broke down within 500 miles. Issues:
**•** Engine overheating + visible coolant leak
**•** Oil warning light on
**•** Check engine, VSA, and TPMS lights all on at once
**•** Back doors won’t open from inside or outside
**•** Driver’s side windows (front and back) won’t work
**•** Radio locked (“Enter Code”)
Car is currently not drivable. I’m on a tight budget. What’s most likely causing the overheating/coolant leak, and what should a mechanic check first? Trying to figure out if this is fixable for a reasonable price or a lost cause. Thanks!
Never posted my civic before but took some pics for the 4th even tho it’s dirty
