Just had our Odyssey in for some recall work. We have 100,600 miles on it. Dealer came back with over $4,000 worth of recommended services.

$1,700 for timing belt
$725 for “valve adjustment”
$514 for spark plug replacement
Fuel injection service
Transmission drain and fill
Brake fluid service

I’m a little in freak out mode right now. I knew the timing belt was coming up and it wouldn’t be cheap. But I wasn’t expecting that much and in conjunction with so many other expensive services.

I dunno how my local KFC stays in business. They NEVER have chicken it seems. Or they’ll tell us it will be 20 min wait to get chicken. Is KFC unable to make batches of chicken and hold it or something? They also never have any fountain drinks. I don’t know what the point of keeping this restaurant open is if you can never keep in stock the primary item you’re supposed to be selling! 😡

I just got my son the Katana 100w gen 3 for a birthday gift. It looks like you can buy pedals to activate different settings on the fly. I know nothing about guitar gear so I’m trying to understand more before I’d plunk down the money for one. So would these switches allow him to toggle between different amp presets or something? Or toggle certain effects on/off? Any recommendation for which pedal to get? Thanks

Just need to vent about my first Toyota Care service with the BZ. Took it in for the 5k check and recall software update. Get a call from my service advisor at the end of the day saying the car is done…but there’s a problem. The service tech over torqued one of my lug nuts and sheered off the stud. Service advisor told me I could come pick up the car and bring it back to them when they got the part. Something about driving on the highway with a missing lug didn’t sit right with me, so I asked them when the part would be in. He told me they get a truck the next morning and they can have the car done by noon. Good, because I have to leave for work by 1pm. Today I call and guess what…part didn’t come in! So they tell me they’ll give me a loaner. By the time I get to the dealership I only have 20 mins before I have to get on the road to make it to work. They hand me the keys to a big ass Tacoma TRD. Oh…and it has less than have a tank of gas in it! The service advisor told me before I left “don’t worry about putting gas back in it”. Well…I’m probably going to have to in order just to make it home! I know this has nothing to do with the BZ itself and everything about this particular dealership but I just needed to vent.

For those that cook bbq at home, is there a place that you can get prime grade briskets consistently? Sam’s Club occasionally has them, but most of the time they only carry choice. I don’t have a Costco membership as they’re too far away from me to consistently make use of it.

Did Apple push an iOS update that screwed up route planning for EV owners? I have a 2026 Toyota BZ and it used to route to compatible Tesla superchargers just fine. And today I was playing around with it, and it’s telling me my preferred network (Tesla) is not available. Yet ABRP app will route to them just fine!

I was playing around with my Apple Maps today and when I plotted the route, it said my preferred network (Tesla) is not available. So Apple Maps was routing me to an Electrify America station halfway along the way. I know for certain there are compatible Tesla superchargers on this route, and Apple Maps used to route me to them when I first set up the car to work with Apple Maps. Why is it all of a sudden ignoring the Tesla stations? The ABRP app is recognizing them so I’m not sure what’s going on with Apple…

My wife and I are pretty stunned how many of the cast members look and sound like other celebrities. John Edward’s looks and sound like Gary Sinise. Mitchell looks and sounds like Rob Lowe. Dr. Tann looks like Ernie Hudson

Asking for a friend since his wife has been monitoring everything. I have a friend who is in the process of a divorce. Somehow, his soon to be ex, is able to see EVERYTHING he does on his iPhone. She takes screen shots of any website he goes to. She knows his reddit user handle and the subs his visits. She knows call logs. She can see and delete pictures from his phone. She knows how much time he spends on any given app. She sees any Amazon purchases he makes. We can’t figure out how she’s doing it. I had him turn off every bit of cloud sharing we can think of. At first I thought maybe she had some software running on their home’s wifi router but AT&T told him that wasn’t possible.

Now, he had given his old iPad to his daughter some time back. We thought maybe it was still syncing stuff to his phone. He said he called Apple and they remotely erased it. But somehow his crazy wife is still doing all this spying. How is this possible? We are stumped, and I’m usually pretty good with solving these kinds of things.

For those that have had their 2026 BZs for a while now, would you make the same decision if you were doing it all over? I’m not sure that I would to be honest. I can’t complain about how my car drives. I can’t really complain about the functions it has. But the more I live with it the more I can’t help but notice a lot of the goofy design decisions. The fact that the Toyota app is dogshit and apparently will never get better. The fact my headlights are downright dangerous on their low beams when driving on unlit roads at night. I sometimes feel like Toyota just barely did enough to make an acceptable EV…but they could have done so much more to make a great one. I NEVER see any other BZs in the wild. I think maybe we’ve seen 2-3 other ones in my city in the last 6 months. They’re clearly not popular, at least where I’m at. Yet Teslas are everywhere. I feel like you barely hear a blip about EVs from other makers like Kia, Hyundai, or Ford these days. I worry Toyota will eventually stop caring about EVs too at some point. I’m just venting. Whenever anyone asks me about my BZ and if I love it, I always tell them, “I like my car…I don’t love my car”.

And I really wanted to love the next car I bought. But the BZ isn’t hitting the mark for me on that. 😞

Any issues using Rain-X brand washer fluid in the BZ? I know there’s some cars that are reported to have issues with it, where it ruins sensors and such. I think there were warnings I always saw about it for BMWs.

My family and I would like to go to Rome someday and I’m normally pretty good about figuring things out. But Rome kinda has me stumped. A lot of these archeological sites seem to have their own tickets. Lots of times I can’t tell if the site I’m on is the legit site to purchase tickets or not. Often the pages won’t even load or Google will throw some “we’ve detected unusual browser traffic” error. Is there just one ticket that pretty much gets you into everything? Even these “Roma Pass” cards I’m seeing seem to only get you into certain things. How do you easily buy tickets for all the sites you want to see, and make sure you’re on the legit site?
