my original "tomorrow's dream"

I never got this sound out of any other amp except my vintage Marshall full stack with a sound city head , but that thing was loaded with tubes , I have a Boss me 30 digital effects pedal but the effects in this amp were actually better, hope someone enjoys this 🎸

Question

I recently purchased a Boss Katana 100 artist and love it. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for metal settings or videos that wished to share. Thanks

Cheaper footswitch option.

I need to buy a footswitch for my Boss katana gen 3 50w. I don't have enough money for the ga-fc footswitch so I need a cheap alternative that I could switch banks and tones with

Question about boss katana gen 3 and wah

Just got the amp. Love it. But I want to start using a wah pedal. Am planning on getting the gafc foot controller, but should I just get an expression pedal and use the wah in tone center or get a stand alone wah. I'm not heaps specific on needing a particular wah sound so a standard one or dunlop/vox one are fine, but set up wise is the any big benefit?

why doesn't my katana have much gain?

hi all, ive had a katana mkii 50w for about a year now and for the past few months I have been struggling to dial in a high gain tone without it sounding very muddy or fizzy. I've noticed that when copying tones/downloading patches from videos(linked below), that my version has significantly less gain. I am aware that the guitar and pick ups obviously matter, aswell as the recording software, but even when turning up the gain/boost on a tone it either makes it too thin or too muddy/fizzy. I know its possible to get these tones, but im just not sure why my amp sounds so much different. I've tried on multiple guitars aswell, each with different pickups. I've tried on a stock Telecaster, a stock epiphone sg, and a Gibson les paul with vintage humbuckers in it and they all still face the issue, leading me to believe it is the amp. I also use BTS. (sorry for not knowing the exact pickup models, its been awhile).

thank you all in advance

Boss Katana 50 MK 2 Tone is stuck

My amp was fine then suddenly the next day everything has like a super heavy stoner doom tone on it. I’ve tried factory resetting the amp a few times. The firmware shows it’s updated. I’ve hooked up to the tone studio and looked in there. I’ve tried different channels and banks. Nothing is getting rid of this. I did have a stoner doom tone saved at one point but I deleted it from the tone studio and it should’ve cleared when I factory reset the amp. Any help would be appreciated! This is driving me insane!

Terrible High-Pitched Squeal On Katana Mk II 50

Hi everyone, I am trying to get to the bottom of this awful noise my amp has been making ever since I got it. I bought a Katana Mk II 50 (I think it's the gen 3) and when I plug it in to my guitar it does this high-pitched squeal that drives me crazy. It even does it on the clean channel if I turn it up past about mid volume and master on 0.5 watts. It does this with all my guitars and cables.

I have tried just about everything I can think of to try and fix this. I know it's not my guitar and cable because they both sound good on other amps at high gain. I have turned on noise suppression in the tone studio and while it does help a little, it still makes the screeching noise. (I have noise suppression on in the video) It's loud enough to make me not want to even use this amp. The noise stops when I mute the strings if that is helpful. I have even tried moving around to different outlets in my house and have used the amp in other places and it doesn't make a difference.

As a side note, my sister also recently got one of these amps and hers is making the same noise too.

If anyone has any advice or ideas on what's wrong, I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks in advance.

Robert Smith (The Cure) using Katana Live

We went to see The Cure in Belfast last night and they were excellent.

I thought I noticed a Katana on stage alongside his Cube but I couldn't find any info online and was wondering if anyone had seen anything about him using it on tour.

I know he uses a lot of Boss effects in his rigs.

Artist Gen 3 worth it? Tempted but a few concerns

Bit of history, I had the MKII 100W when it came out and looking back it was the amp I actually had the longest. I was just getting back into guitar in lockdown and it was a great amp to use to get back into playing, effects, etc. But damn YouTube in lockdown didn’t help! And GAS over the the years for the best of me. I started with the UaFX pedals into the Katana’s poweramp and noticed a big difference in tone and feel. That convinced me to try a tube amp so I sold everything for simplicity and got a little Supro DK12 which I liked the feel of. But! Once I got a band going I didn’t like the Supro in the jam room.

Got rid of the a Supro for a Tonex One and have enjoyed playing captures through the room’s PA and headphones at home. But had a bad experience at our last gig with an incompetent sound guy and now realise I need an amp (the band agrees!)

The last couple years I’ve really simplified my setup to an OD and a tape delay, focusing on tone more than loads of effects.

So I’m looking at the Artist Gen 3 wondering if it’s the solution between what I liked from the MKII but with the feel I got from other options. I really want a one stop shop. I play edge of breakup, Americana, Springsteen/Petty/Neil type stuff. The MKII ended up sounding a bit too digital and lifeless in the end compared to amp in a box pedals so my big concern is the Artist will still have a bit of that staleness BUT I would love for the Pushed and Bloom features to prove me wrong and satisfy the itch.

Sorry for the ramble. Thanks in advance for your expertise!

Wah pedal or EV-5 for katana gen 3

Hey all,

So I’m looking to get my first wah pedal, and I was looking at the Vox847A … but then I remembered my katana accepts the Roland ev-5 expression pedal which can be mapped to wah effects in the signal chain.

Does anyone have any preference over a dedicated wah vs the expression pedal and if so why?

Would a Katana-50 EX Gen 3 an upgrade from a Fender Mustang v2?

Looking to update my Fender Mustang v2 50w amp. My biggest issue is that it has no true clean mode.

Lately I've really been investing and branching out to pedals: heavy menace distortion, boss eq ge-7, jhs delay, and flamma fs01 drum/looper.

So my main distortion will be from the heavy menace pedal and looking for a solid amp for this — awhile using eq knobs on the amp to really dial in a tone.

Would this Katana make sense and an upgrade to my current Mustang? Or am I looking at the wrong amp

Liquid and smoking from Katana 50

Hi all. Got woken up by the smoke alarm to a room full of smoke early hours this morning. Pictures aren’t great but anyone have any idea what caused this? There was a small puddle of liquid under the speaker cone too. Nothing was spilt on it and there’s no leak from anywhere else so I’m almost certain the liquid came from the amp.

Tips and Suggestions for my tone (Boss Katana MkII)

I've just started getting into the eq settings myself and trying to really dial in a metal tone the way i want. I'm using a Schecter Synyster Gates Custom-S and I know things vary guitar to guitar, but the tone sounds okay but still feels a bit fuzzy and not super tight for leads. Sounds okay for chugs but a little fuzzy and too noisy at times for anything else. I was wondering if there was any tips or suggestions yall would have, and I'm trying my best to word this correctly from what I hear. But if anyone could look into this tone and let me know it would be much appreciated! I also use the 25w setting on the amp and keep the master volume around 9-10'o clock. (attached is the link to the tone)
