In reading up on the Digital Credentials API, which the ‘26 OS’ added support for, it looks like it can be used not just for government-issued credentials, but also business- or organization-issued credentials.

One seemingly glaring omission from the feature set of a student ID in Wallet has been that its use is limited strictly to in-person presentment via NFC. I’ve long wondered why a student ID in Wallet could not be used to log into a college’s intranet or even to verify student status for, say, a student discount. It seems like the Digital Credentials API may be laying the foundation for this.

Imagine signing up for a Spotify student plan and verifying your student status much like making an Apple Pay purchase online: click verify, select your student ID in Wallet, double-click to confirm. The same may even be possible for renewing your driver’s license. I think we’re just seeing the very beginning of that this API makes possible.

I just tried to buy something online using Apple Pay (linked to and AmEx) for 171 usd. Payment kept failing. Then I lowered the amount to 85 USD and it went through.

I have purchased things well over 1000$ cad before using my actual card instead of my card through Apple Pay, so I know its not a transaction limit issue.

Now is this an issue of the merchant potentially apply contactless payment limits on the Apple Pay method? Maybe the 171$ USD was coming in at over $250 CAD? Because shouldn’t Apple Pay have no limit online, and basically work the same as entering in the card normally?

This was my first time using Apple Pay to purchase something over $200 instead of just using my card.

To be clear, I know my apple pay virtual number for this card, and it has been shown on all my in-person transaction receipt for years (i scan save all my paper receipts)

But today I just used my phone as usual in a mall, and I noticed my real card number shown on the receipt.

I am sure it is apple pay, my credit card app showed it is apple pay, apple wallet also showed the transaction as normal

is this possible? Thanks!

update: I was using Amex card on a, I believe, square terminal. Someone in this thread had a similar experience. It might have been transferred back by the network as a reference for the convenience of merchant.

Is anyone currently having issues with their Apple Cash? I got something at a store, goes through on my end yet not on theirs. I check twitter, and there’s a bunch of people confused why their Apple Cash isn’t working.

Transaction 1: I use my Apple Card via Apple Pay QR code

Then I request new virtual card number on my Apple Card through the iWallet app.

Transaction 2: I use my Apple Card via ApplePay QR code again (this time my card number is different

Question: Do these two transactions appear to be from the same user to the merchant?

Have only ever used Apple Cash for tiny amounts of money between family/friends.

Shit has been hitting the fan the last few months, ended up doing food delivery to make bills all last month. Actually ended up making quite a bit of money from it. By the time rent is due, my money is in 2 places: my discover account & my dasher account. For some reason I couldn’t get my discover and dasher account connected … at all.

I had the GENIUS idea to transfer ALL of my rent money to my Apple Cash🥲🥲 so I did that.

Two weeks later and my account locks EVERY TIME I try to withdrawal to my bank. (Can’t pay rent or get money order w Apple Cash) Tried to withdrawal to discover account… LOCKED. Waited for it to unlock. It does. Added my cashapp account because I know for a fact they work with Apple Cash. Locked AGAIN. I get it unlocked…. Tried a 3rd time to withdrawal to cashapp and locked now for the third time.

I’ve called everyday and I get the same thing:
“Wait 48 hours for the review” and then they will unlock it a day or two after that.
I was told by a supervisor that nobody has access to the reasons WHY my account gets locked. I asked as many different ways as I could and same answer.

My issue is, how do I prevent this from happening???? I called cashapp to confirm my account was in good standing. I confirmed with Apple that my information is all correct and verified. I asked if it was the AMOUNT (literally only $1300) and they said the amount is rarely the issue that triggers locking the account.

I asked 400000000 times how do I transfer the money into my bank account without locking my account? Anyone have a clue? Like how do I physically get access to my money? It’s been two weeks and it’s just the same cycle of initiating a transfer, getting locked, waiting 48 hrs, unlocked account, repeat.

I’m excited for this. They should have added it years ago!

I dont use Apple Pay/Cash, but someone sent me money with what looks like Apple Cash. I told them not to and dont want it. It came through as a text from them. Do I need to do anything to deny it, or if I do nothing it just wont come to me. Or once they sent it, it is mine.

I mistakenly made an Apple Cash transfer to a bank account I closed two years ago. I obviously meant to transferred the cash to a different bank account. I did this 10 days ago and called the Apple Cash support phone number they’re seeing if they can reverse that. I’m just really nervous that I accidentally threw away $4000. Have anybody else ever ran into an issue like this? What was the outcome?

Biggest problem I’m seeing is that it shows as a completed transfer in my Apple wallet history… So where the hell is the money?

Hey guys I need some advice everytime I add a card to Apple Pay it verifies it and everything but themI go to pay for something and it says it’s not authorized and declined my purchase I even went as far to call the bank to let them know that it’s me that I’m just traveling right now. But it happened again today. Any thoughts?

It works just fine on Uber Eats and other apps that use the card as well just not Apple Pay.
