North Carolina Aims To Bring IDs To Wallet In Early 2027

NCDOT has launched a new landing page announcing the early development of a mobile ID. Under the brief FAQ section they note that initial launch will be limited to a standalone NC wallet app, with Apple, Google, and Samsung Wallet support expected in early 2027.

This may seem like wishful thinking—to go from early development to launch in 8-9 months—but it’s worth noting that Illinois went from legislative approval in January 2025 to a statewide launch in late November that same year.

It would seem that the states (and their-party verification providers, such as IDEMIA) as learning how to accelerate launch as they gain more experience.

Alternative to Pass4Wallet

Hi,

it seems Pass4Wallet has been discontinued, the app can't connect to servers and comments on the AppStore relate this since the beginning of the summer.

I've tried Barcodes, I didn't like it. Not very legible, and very poor in terms of the informations I can add to cards & passes.

I tried Neatpass, no thanks. It has AI built in, it made my iPhone SE2020 get hot for minutes without succeeding to complete the import of a PDF, it's a no-go.

Are there other apps, or maybe websites, with good confidentiality policies, that would allow me to add anything I want to my Wallet?

Has anyone been able to get more than 8 or 9 Amex cards on Apple Pay

As the title states, has anyone been able to do it? I currently have 9 Amex cards in Apple Pay, but I’m having trouble adding my 10th.
I really enjoy the convenience of having all my credit cards in Apple Pay. I recently saw a post saying Amex has increased the limit from 8 cards to 12 cards, so I’m curious if anyone else has actually been able to add 10, 11, or 12 cards.
If you’ve been able to get past 9, what iOS version are you on and how many Amex cards do you currently have in Apple Pay?
And if you’re wondering why I have so many Amex cards, I’m active duty military and receive MLA/SCRA benefits, which makes having multiple Amex cards pretty nice.

Fined on a Paris bus despite validating my ticket – has anyone successfully appealed this?

I wanted to share my experience and ask if anyone has had something similar happen with a ticket stored in Apple Wallet.
This morning, I boarded a bus in Paris and tapped my iPhone on the validator as usual. I had valid public transport tickets loaded in Apple Wallet. My phone registered the interaction, and I continued my journey believing everything was fine.
A few stops later, ticket inspectors boarded the bus. When they checked my iPhone, they told me that there was no valid ticket registered for the journey and I was fined.
What makes this particularly confusing is what I found in Apple Wallet afterwards.
At the exact time I boarded the bus, Apple Wallet shows a **“Card Read”** event. It also shows the location where I boarded the bus and the following message:
“The transaction amount is not available from the public transport agency, but your ticket count has been updated to reflect this charge.”
My ticket count was indeed reduced. So from my perspective, I had purchased a valid ticket, tapped my phone on the validator, my iPhone recorded the interaction, and my ticket balance was updated accordingly. I had absolutely no reason to believe that the validation had failed.
I was travelling with someone using an Android phone. We boarded together and validated our tickets at the same time. His validation was apparently registered correctly and he was not fined, while mine was not visible on the inspector’s device.
I have now submitted an official complaint/appeal to RATP and included screenshots from Apple Wallet showing the Card Read, the exact time and location, and the message about the ticket count being updated. I am currently waiting for their response.
I understand that passengers are responsible for having a properly validated ticket, but in this situation I genuinely don’t know what else I could have done. I bought the ticket, tapped the validator, and my phone gave me every indication that the interaction had been registered.
Has anyone here experienced the same or a similar issue with an iPhone/Apple Wallet ticket in Paris? If so, did RATP accept your appeal and refund the fine?
I’ll update this post when I receive their decision, in case it helps other travellers who encounter the same problem.

Card not added,contact card issuer

I had to reset my phone today and am trying to add my cards back to Apple Wallet, but I keep getting an error message. I spoke with all my banks, and they claim everything is fine on their end with no restrictions, suggesting it might be an issue on Apple's side. Has anyone else dealt with this nightmare? How did you get it fixed? TIA!

Apple Pay charging also?

Hi. This is a bit of a mortifying story and I could be overreacting, but wanted to see what you all think. I put my bosses card on my Apple Pay (with her permission… we only had one card in the department that several people shared). I reconcile the credit card and noticed there was an apple.com charge for 19.99 bucks. I didn’t think too much about it and was gonna get to figuring that out eventually.

I noticed tge dating app that I pay 19.99 for (feel free to judge) charged my personal card on the same day as the Apple Pay charge. When I went to look at my purchase history in App Store, it says my personal card was charged, but the coincidence is making me nervous. Is there any way that Apple would double charge both my personal and Apple Pay?

How do I get back to Apple Pay authentication if I accidentally put phone to sleep instead of clicking confirm button?

This fumblefingers thing happens to me too often and in the moment I can never figure out how to fix it. I use Apple Pay on my phone all the time, but sometimes when I’m at the auth screen I’ll accidentally make the screen go to sleep instead of the double tap to pay. And when I wake the phone back up, the auth screen is gone and the cashier is looking at me with that patient “You’re an idiot, aren’t you?” look. And I end up having to dig out a card and stagger off with the purchases.

So - if you screw up the first attempt to pay, how do you get back to the auth screen so you can try again?

Got new iPhone, unable to add any card from any bank to ApplePay

Cards are still able to be added to Apple Watch.

Tried multiple cards (visa, Mastercard) from multiple banks (credit union, BOA) and tried getting a brand new card, no dice.

I’ve called Apple and the banks, they point at each other. Since it’s multiple banks/cards seems like it should be Apple?

I’ve google a bunch, searched reddit, tried MANY different things:

Reset network settings

Rename iPhone

Turn off screen time

Reset location

Etc.

Can anyone help?

Apple Pay receipt shows a different card number than my actual card — is this normal?

I recently bought some groceries from Dali and paid using Apple Pay.
I just noticed on the official receipt that the card number shown ends in 3333, but that’s not the last 4 digits of my actual credit card.
I checked my credit card app, though, and the transaction was definitely charged to my card.
Is this normal when using Apple Pay? Does Apple Pay use a different/virtual card number that merchants see on the receipt?
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

iOS 27 Adds “Discover” Option

Whether it’s a server-side feature or specific to iOS 27 DB3, there’s a new Discover option under Wallet’s (•••) menu. It lists all the card, key, ticket, and ID types you can store in Wallet. I have to assume this is an effort to better expose customers to the types of things they can add to Wallet, like IDs and keys.

Scammed

I sent someone $170 thru Apple Pay to receive a motorcycle part and never got it and they no longer will reply about anything.

Is there a way to try and get the money back through Apple or will my bank possibly be able to?

Thank you in advance!
