After more than a year of hinting at it, mentioning Apple Wallet support on landing pages, and stating that digital Charlie Cards were in a small pilot phase, the T has updated their Apple Pay landing page here (for more than a year, you’ve been able to ride the T with contactless payment cards in Wallet). Funnily enough, this page seems mostly aimed at using payment cards with Apple Pay, but it makes several references to the digital Charlie Card and features this photo at the top.

Based on this image from the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s mobile ID landing page, I asked Gemini to mock up what an ID in Wallet might look like, using existing Apple Wallet ID artwork as reference. It’s worth noting that the image on the NCDOT site looks to be similar in style to the artwork used by Samsung Wallet for West Virginia.

iOS 27 introduces a new pass style called Poster Generic, bringing the best of iOS 18’s enhanced event tickets and iOS 26’s enhanced boarding passes to even more businesses and users. Notable additions include a new, refreshed design with greater customization options, as well as the ability to add up to two Actions to a pass, such as Shop and View Membership Benefits, among others.

Shout out u/aaronp613 for noticing before anyone else! Oklahoma ID in Wallet is now live, roughly 5-6 weeks after ID artwork appeared on Apple’s backend.

Apple hasn’t updated their ID in Wallet landing page yet, nor has Oklahoma.gov been updated either.

Looks like they’re getting ready to pour the last two concrete pads leading up to the face of the Palisades. Then they should install the rest of the tunnel boring machine’s (TBM) rear gantries, the cutter head and shield, and the massive metal “thrust ring” that they push off of to begin boring.

Official VADMV promo videos for ID in Wallet. We first saw these style of videos with the launch of Illinois last November. It seems that Apple is now providing the states with short social promos in this style.

Is this new? I don’t think I ever realized that if you tap on AMBER alert notifications it’ll open in Maps and show the area under alert.

Whether it’s a server-side feature or specific to iOS 27 DB3, there’s a new Discover option under Wallet’s (•••) menu. It lists all the card, key, ticket, and ID types you can store in Wallet. I have to assume this is an effort to better expose customers to the types of things they can add to Wallet, like IDs and keys.

Interestingly, despite my having both my Maryland driver’s license and my Digital ID in Wallet, the suggestion only appeared for the license. I assume this suggestion was powered by a combination of factors, including stored flight info, boarding passes in Wallet, and the fact that I’m currently at DCA.

Here’s the Recurring charge feature for Apple Card on iOS 27. It would seem to use on-device intelligence to find charges made for the same (or nearly-same) amount, made to the same merchant, on nearly the same day every month (and maybe quarterly, bi-weekly, etc?).

I’ll have to see if it’s smart enough to detect charges that are more irregular, like once a quarter or every two months, etc.
