Jubilee Poconos

Wing nights are Sunday and Thursday. I expected it to be special. It was not. They were meh. 3 varieties- mild which was just bland, garlic which was oily, bbq which was nothing special. I’d rather get from the Pinewood Deli or da’s.

Told my husband I could easily eat 30 wings in one sitting

Ended up getting full after 9 wings.
My ego is bruised. I feel pathetic.
Of course I took the leftovers home.
Anyway, they were yummy. Next time I order 10 :3

Why are wings so damn expensive in some restaurants and not others?

I got annoyed seeing $19 for 8 wings at a local bar, so I went down a rabbit hole. No, I did not order them.

Wholesale wing prices have actually come way down from their 2022 peak, but menu prices haven't. I checked 13 bars around Westchester County, NY and found prices ranging from $1.11 to $2.38 per wing. Same county, same basic suppliers, more than a 2x difference between locations. AND some of the best wings I found were also among the cheapest.

I put together the numbers, including wholesale chicken costs, old vs. current menu prices, and what seems to actually drive the price of wings.

Curious what people are paying elsewhere. What's a reasonable price per restaurant wing where you live?

Qt buffalo wings

I was pleasantly surprised how good these are. They are very crispy and tender. Could use a little more of the buffalo seasoning and kinda pricy at $6 for 4 wings. But I would definitely get them again.

Captain Clyde's Cannonball Crush Buffalo Wings

Ingredients:

* Two tbsps. melted butter

* 1/4 cup Frank's Red Hot

* 1/4 cup Captain Clyde's Cannonball Crush hot sauce by Black Eyed Susan Spice Co.

Makes enough sauce for 2-3 lbs of wings.

Cook at 400°F for 40-50 minutes, turning halfway through.

I was immensely satisfied with how these turned out. The acidic tang of the buffalo was complimented nicely by the citrus-y tang of the Cannonball Crush, which also gave it a nice, light burn of ghost pepper afterwards. The wings themselves were very tender, yet crispy at the same time.

Adolf's Old First Ward Tavern

Made a trip to Buffalo on the way through from Toronto to a farm stop on our New York-Toronto-New York roadtrip.

Oh my Lord....what astonishingly good wings...medium hot, blue cheese perfection. If only all comfort food could be this good!

Queue was out of the door. When I finally got a table and the wings eventually arrived, I understood! Truly fantastic.

Did Buffalo Wild Wings get worse, or was it always mediocre?

I loved it as a kid, but haven’t been too many times as an adult. I went again recently and it did not at all live up to my childhood nostalgia. Question is, was I just a kid who had never had really good wings before, or did bdubs drastically drop in quality?

I Don't Know If I Can Look At a Chicken Wing the Same Ever Again

I never thought of a chicken wing in relation to the human anatomy. Does anyone else have any weird facts or thoughts on wings?

Y’all I tried breaded wings and I think amma pass

I’ve always baked/fried my wings without breading and tossed them in the sauce.They always turn out perfect. However, I tried breaded wings and they were interesting, it wasn’t bad but it didn’t hit the same. I’ve had breaded wings from PUBLIX and loved them without sauce, so I wanted to make my own, but it just wasn’t it. Guess I’m a NAKED WING LOVER to infinity and beyond.
