Got tired of uneven cuts
So I made a little modification. Zip tied a ~20lb brick to the front and it works like a charm. Bonus points that it collects better while I’m bagging.

My 5.0AH battery suddenly stopped working. It flashes red if you press the button, then red and green if you Yuri to reset it.
When you put it in the charger it flashes red (defective).
The battery is dated 2022.
Is it toast?
Once a battery is used do you charge it immediately or charge it close to the next use time?
I have the nexus power station which charges my batteries incredibly slowly, I assume this is the safest for my batteries and helps them last the longest.
Is a quick chargers every now and then that detrimental to the battery longevity?
I bought an Ego Misting fan yesterday for a 4th of July Party and it was left outside during a short but fairly heavy rain shower. One of my guests tried to turn the fan back on after the rain passed and nothing happened when they pressed the buttons.
I brought the fan into my garage and let it dry overnight and just tried it again this morning. Still nothing when I push the power button. Any insight as to whether this thing is toast or if there are other sections I need to open up to all to dry better?
EDIT: I tried to exchange it at the store and the Ace Hardware I bought it at says they have a store policy to not refund or exchange any Ego products. I have opened a warranty claim. The Ego rep said it sounds like the control board is broken and it might be covered under warranty but I’ll find out after the service tech checks it out.
I have Bermuda and like to cut it short. currently I have a manual reel mower which gets the job done however it’s not sustainable and takes too long. I read conflicting info online so came here for some real world people.
Scored this mower today. Looked to be barely used, like once or twice. Plus a 7.5 battery!
It’s 97 degrees here in Greensboro, NC, but we are hanging out enjoying our backyard. Great product EGO.
I recently bought the 670 CFM leaf blower to start replacing my Ryobi 40v gear. It blows nicely, but the sound is absolutely obnoxious, super shrill, high-pitched kind of similar to a circular or miter saw but louder and constant, even at low speeds. When compared to my Ryobi leaf blower that's a bit more powerful (on paper) it's basically unusable.
The video doesn't really do it justice. I've tried watching reviews and looking at posts but have not seen this as a complaint and I can't tell from the audio.
This is my first ego gear and I don't know anybody else who has any so I was wondering if this was normal or if I should look at a different CFM leaf blower. Thanks!
Alright so I pulled the trigger on this and used it for the first time on a pile of wet mango tree leaves. Honestly, I think this was designed by Chuck Norris! This thing had a recoil on it when I hit the turbo button. The leaves had no chance. It makes my Makita blower seem asthmatic. Holding this thing, I felt like Arnold in T2 when he was shooting at the cops with that M134 mini-gun. I paired it with a 12000 mAh OHYES battery and had 2 lights of battery remaining after 20 minutes. Sure I could’ve ended up with more battery life remaining but I wanted to get the job done quickly and have fun at the same time.
I own and use Milwaukee tools for my cars and majority of house maintenance, but I decided to go with Ego tools for lawn care.
I’m on the edge and need a nudge.
More specifically, I’ve narrowed my choice down to Ego. I have a 12 year old Ariens two stage snow blower that hasn’t seen any action in 2 years. I primarily use my 3 year old Honda HS720c which they no longer make. In the summer I have my Rigid weed trimmer and a 3 year old Honda HRN216.
I’m pushing 5 decades in age. Healthy as I can be. (Knock on wood.)
I’m sort of tired of oil changes, gas fumes, and carb cleaning on my snowblowers.
Why should I change over to battery operated? (I know why, I just need the extra convincing.)
for those that are on this sub frequently, you may have heard me talk about having the original battery still in use. that ended today, i put it in the recycle bin at home Depot. it was leaking some clear liquid from the seams. so, just for info for others, 14 years was the lifespan of that battery, with probably 250-300 uses, and i left it in the garage every summer, it's 96 degrees today, so it took a beating with heat, but i brought it in during winter.
it was still working, at about 70-80 % runtime, but i don't mess with li ion batteries. and that's coming from someone that used to take ni cad battery packs and rebuild them with ni mh cells
I just picked up the vacuum on clearance. Opened the box in front of the manager and found it to be a used 2.5ah battery instead of the new 5.0ah battery. Manager made things right and gave me a new 5.0 battery.
Open the box in store especially the battery box!
Both are the composite decks. (2) 6amps batteries is $769 and the (1) 10amp is $ 699. I have a ton of batteries 2.5amp-7.5amp. No 10 amp.
Question: 1. Which do you think is the better deal based on my battery inventory. And 2. Who has the best deals right now? Thanks!
This battery is 5 months old and yesterday hit me with this red light, any recommendations on how to fix it? Thank you in advance
