Commercial Pole Saw PSX2510 or Regular Pole Saw PS1000 (2026)

This was asked ~ yr ago, besides cost and warranty what are the advantages of one over the other? I plan on using it with the extension (or two)

/edit - I read the commercial has an IPX5-rated weather resistance, vs 4 for the residential

Pole saw with 2 extensions - how well does it work?

I currently have an Echo PPT-280 gas pole saw with extension. It is a beast, it is 17' 2" to the cutting tip. But the 28CC chainsaw at the end has always been heavy. I usually tried to find branches where I could sort of rest the saw on the way up.

I've been reading on here about using the Ego pole saw with two extensions and reaching 17', is that 17 feet plus the height of the holder or is it the marketing 17 feet INCLUDING the operator?

And how well does it work?

/edit - think I finally found that the 17' ego talks about includes an operator fudge factor:

Testing batteries and which Portable Power Station (PPS)?

New to the ego domain with purchase of a EGO LM2244SP-2. But based on past experience I know I'm going to be wanting more tools and more batteries.

On marketplace I see a lot of used batteries of many ages and AH's being sold. Virtually all are claimed to be almost new and only used by a little old lady on Sunday. Is there any relatively inexpensive tool (<$200) to test these batteries?

I also see there are two current PPS's being sold and the new one (PST1405) doesn't handle as much as the old one (PST3042). I DEFINITELY want to get one of them. I've had excellent luck using my DeWalt dcb1800b Portable Power Station as an emergency power source with the plethora of 20V and Flexvolt batteries I've acquired. So I'm looking for user recommendations on either of these.

So if the community could recommend a tester and a PPS I'd appreciate it.

Any recommendations on pintle hitches to put in my 2.5" receiver?

I've a 2026 F250 6.8l w/ factory 2.5" tow receiver. My BIL buys military and some stuff comes with pintle hitches. I'm looking for an inexpensive pintle hitch just in case I need to tow something. Since Amazon offers a 20K rated Nilight w/ 2" stinger for ~ $62 any reason to look further?

I won't be towing over 14K (if ever) but I like to be prepared.

What's happened to tracking?

Tracking USED to work well for me. I could order something, see when it left and what stops in between, plan on being there for delivery if need be. And I got shipments several times per week, for years

Now (12:12pm 8/5/2026) I've a package (Boring Mattress) shipped from Glendale, AZ US to Alexandria,VA. Tracking shows it arrived ANTON CHICO, NM 8/2/26 11:40 PM and that's the last update, but it's still saying delivery today between 11 and 3p.m.

It's been pouring rain out. I can't risk a cardboard box sitting in the rain with a $1K mattress.

I know it had to stop some place in between ANTON CHICO, NM and here, has their tracking just recently gone down the drain??

/well the tracking changed it's now 14:20 EDT and they put a blurb in:

"We're unable to retrieve delivery options right now. Please try again later."

/edit - 1500 EDT - now it changed to "end of day"

parasitic draw - what should I look for?

New 2026 F250 6.8l STX. Bought in April. NO added electronics.

Due to health issues hardly been driven, only ~200 miles. Twice when I've gone to start it the battery's been dead. I've tried to make sure all the stuff has been turned off.

What are the prime power sucking culprits I should be looking for and how ti turn them off?

I posted similar before -

Need USB A to USB C, 12' power, 3A.

I’m looking for 12 foot (or longer) flat USB A to USB C(m) cables for a Wyze V4 pan camera, only power is needed. Most of the places where I want to put them involve running a cable out a double-hung window that has an aluminum storm window.

The power needed at the camera is 3 amp.

The route taken by previous cables:

under the lower inner sash - flat cable

- under the inner storm window, bending the flat cable to run in the groove a bit, then exit the groove to the outside.

I’m running a V4 pan with the abysmally short supplied cable run that route and it seems to be working.

Flat is needed to maneuver through the windows, it lets me do slight bends and still maintain a fairly airtight seal, 12 foot is needed to go from inside the window, out, then up a ways to hang under the eaves.

Anyone have any links to such a beast?

Toro personal pace failure - wheels lock on backup

Lot's of us have had this problem.

This video seems to explain why: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9xJHy-azVo

Basically they cheapened the transmission. It's supposed to unlock when you pull the mower backwards. But after some hours of use the wheels the mechanism gets worn and ceases to function. And the wheels stay engaged for forward movement, but lock up when you try to pull it back to maneuver.

So I've basically got a $500 mower that only goes forward. :(

Hang in there

Got a lot of support reading this reddit.

Always room for hope, just a post to lessen despair.

I'm a 75yr old male, all my labs are done at Kaiser. Last Dec my GFR decreased slightly from the mid 50's to 48. Doc said no problem, just watch your diet. Well apparently I didn't watch it well enough. April 24th saw 41, I greatly decreased my meat intake. May 4th, it was at 34. The decline was worrisome. At that rate stage 4 was getting close. Everything I was reading said GFR only goes down and all other reports are only internet rumor. Diet went to virtually veg only. May 29th, relief, it was at 35, leveling out. Now, July 6th it's back up to 44.

Lots of beans and Brassica.

So hang in there, I didn't expect to see the 40's again.

kidney friendly vitamins? any recommendations?

I'm "potentially" going to have kidney problems (stage 3b). Talked to my nephrologist, he just said take a multivitamin. Talked to a dietician, same thing. Neither wouldn't recommend any vitamin other than maybe Rena-Vite, so that's on order.

Are there any others?

2026 Battery drain - what should I expect?

2026 6.8l, fairly basic. Bought in April. Driven only a little every few weeks. Only 144 miles on it. Last drive was about 10 miles a week earlier

Went out to start on 80 degree a.m.. Dead battery. Jumped with my Gooloo gp4000, drove around for about half an hour.

How much parasitic drain do these things have?

About to go on a 1,000 mile trip, need it to run and tow.

And what would be the easiest tool or gauge to install to monitor battery life?

What's the 2026 6.8L "sweet spot" for gas mileage?

How badly does mpg drop above 65 mph on a 2026 F250 Supercab Shortbed? Got a couple of long trips going down I95, not in a hurry. I realize I'm pushing a lot of air. Most of the trip will be in light traffic.

Anybody got performance data they could share?

Recommendations for front grill guard/brush guard needed

Looking for recommendations for front grille guard for my Supercab (6.75' bed) F250.

Don't anticipate bashing it much or doing any serious off-roading but expect to do the occasional trip through the woods plus I travel in fairly dense deer country. And I understand that deer and aluminum do NOT mix well.

No cattle or other animals to round up. Main concern is poor parkers "bumping" and venison on the hoof.

Trying to keep it so it doesn't stick out too far because parking is tight. (I've seen some that stick out such I could rest an Igloo 5 Gallon Heavy-Duty Water Cooler between the headlights and the guard)

Would appreciate links to sites with pictures.

Thanks in advance.

ANY advantage to installing Front Wheel Well Liners WWL) from Ford Parts on a 2026?

Meant to get back to this thread BUT

Seems my 2026 has "fiber" WWL on the front.

Ford Parts lists : Front Pair Wheel Well Liners, SKU: PC3Z16F099B which looks like they cover the same area. I've finally found (and lost) a reference where someone installed new over old.

Are they redundant?

I'll go ahead and get the rears done.

Installing steel on the aluminum body - suggestions

I'm wanting to install a Harbor Freight tailgate ladder.

The steel mounting plate for the ladder requires affixing it to the tailgate, usually by a bunch of steel screws in six or so 9/64″ holes screwed into the tailgate.

Looking for suggestions on how to fasten it without getting steel-to aluminum problems.

The fastener will be going through a plastic washer, the steel plate, the bedliner, the aluminum tailgate carcass.

Leading candidate is 1/8 diameter aluminum rivets ( which will require plastic washers where they touch the steel plate).

Any other suggestions?
