I love pickles, but most homemade versions I’ve tried end up tasting pretty similar after a while. How can I spice them up a bit?
I call it the gap phase. You're past the beginner excitement but not good enough yet for it to feel satisfying. Everything you make or do just highlights how far you have to go. Hit it with woodworking around month three. Hit it with photography around month two. Almost quit both times. The ones I stuck with eventually got to the other side and became things I genuinely love. The ones I quit I still wonder about
Is this universal? And what made you push through it when it happened?
with mother’s day coming up I realized some stories just land differently when family is on your mind, especially anything about mothers, complicated relationships, or even quiet appreciation
not looking for anything overly sentimental or obvious, just books where that theme feels real or hits unexpectedly
what would you recommend around this time
