
Issues with Weight Paint Transfers
I am new to Blender and I am having issues pertaining to how the transfer weights from my body mesh to my clothes.
My clothes are taken from my character bodies faces and duplicated, separated and then touched up to look better and my skeleton was made by taking the model selection and putting it into Mixamo, where I just auto rigged it and then exported it into Blender (I originally created the model in Maya). I think my rigging through Mixamo might be the issue, or the fact that the Model was originally created in Maya instead of Blender.
I've attempted to transfer the paint weights from the body the clothes by setting the Vertex mapping to Nearest Face Interpolation and the Source Layers to By Name. Furthermore, upon doing some investigating I've found that the skeleton can only be moved in edit mode and even then it isn't bound to the mesh and I cant select individual parts of the skeleton in Object mode.
