NEED HELP
I work at a very small med spa that’s only been open for 1 year. I was hired originally as the front desk manager and social media manager just until I obtained my esthetics license then I was promised a job which was given - extremely grateful. However, since day 1 I have been the only esthetician there and a few months ago we hired a new esthetician with 7 years of experience who is lovely but has no med spa background. I am a newer estie than her but have technically being doing med services longer - semantics. However, I keep noticing that her book is getting filled and filled and filled by my owner while mine remains empty. I’ve brought this up as a concern since there has never been anything stated to me that she has seniority over me since I’ve been here since we opened and I was the first esthetician here. But she said that it’s not fair for me to have priority when booking because I have other streams of revenue i.e. front desk (no longer manager) & social media. I told her this isn’t about the money it’s about the fact that I’ve been here since day 1 and I am the only esthetician going to community events and doing outreach and still have an empty book while she is filling someone else’s who is new and has clients who came over from 7 years. I think it’s preposterous that she is prioritizing that estie when I’ve been here the whole time working my ass off for her and helping her build her company to prioritize someone new who already has 7 years of clientele. Am I crazy or am I right?
