Headaches and jaw pain
I’m struggling with headaches and accompanying jaw pain quite regularly. I have always been prone to headaches, and I store my stress in my neck and shoulder muscles which doesn’t help, but these days if I get even a smidgen of a sign of a headache coming on, and even if I take something right away, it will progress into something bad, and my jaw will always get super sore too. It’s like the pain spreads all over - there have been some occasions when it even feels like the pain is referring down into my upper arms!
I do find myself clenching my jaw sometimes, but I feel that this is a side effect of the pain, and not a cause. That said, I don’t know if I’m clenching at night when I (sort of) sleep.
Also, sometimes ibuprofen works (which was my usual go-to before peri), other times not. Sometimes a muscle relaxant with paracetamol works, other times not. It’s just hit and miss which makes no sense to me.
Overall, I feel that my pain threshold is not as good as it used to be - I don’t seem to be able to tolerate what I did before - either that, or the pain is really much worse than it used to be!
Anyone else expereincing something similar?
