Has there been any progress on what we know about the CC Limit since the Games re-release?

I've seen the old research by SimEchoes that the limit seemed to be around 2.5GB to 3GB total size for your Downloads folder. This has never been circumvented, is it impossible?

Is this still the case for Legacy?

I tried the old FARing advice, but it didn't seem to make a difference, and FARing doesn't seem to provide compression, only a speed boost for loading, which now days isn't a big concern.
