Advice wanted. Trying to decide between R7 and R6mk2 for sports
Hey guys,
There are soooo many different posts already but it kind off made me blind for the information and gave me brain "fog" after reading many many posts. I hope someone was in my position and can help me a bit by sharing their experience with these camera's.
Right now I'm still using 2 7D mk2's. With a variety of lenses from 50mm to 100-400L and others. I really want to upgrade to mirrorless because it feels like the AF of the 7D just can't keep up. It worked wonders wile I was a beginner and learning, and mind you I still learn every day, but it starts to feel like a limitation lately.
IF I also sell the 100-400L with the trade-in (original slider) and some other lenses. I'd keep my 70-200 f2.8 and 50mm 1.4 to use with the new camera until I buy others again.
Originally I was dead set on getting the R6 mk2. I know that I'd lose some range going from x1.6 to x1.0 when changing from APS-C to Full Frame. But, I figured I'd just crop a bit more.
Now here comes the R7 in play. Maybe I'm missing something but looking at both the spec sheets it seems that the R7 and R6 mk2 are pretty much identical. Aside from the crop/ff sensor and 24 vs 32mp.
Right now I shoot sports 98% of the time. Football, Baseball, Softball, Soccer etc. Also do some motorsports every now and then. Depending on the league and sports it's also at night and not every field has amazing bright lights. Not even to mention indoor sports.
Considering that pretty much everything between those two camera's is the same. How is their low(er) light performance? Low light on the 7D mk2 is horrible and really one of my biggest gripes, if not hates, for my current camera's. Is the low light performance of the R6 2 really that much better than the R7?
And keep the price in mind a bit to btw. Right now i can get a new R7 + EF-RF adapter for 1350euro's after cashback. R6 mk2 + ER-RF Adapter would be 2110euro after cashback. So that's more or less a 800 euro difference.
And to take occasions prices in mind. Original R6 would be about 1000 euro's for lightly used low clicks. R6 mk2 about 1750 and the R7 also about 1000. Still would need the EF-RF adapter with it.
