Collecting Colustrum
Just wanted to share my experience from today. I am starting to collect some colostrum for baby #2. I never collected colostrum for our 1st so this is new to me. I noticed if I squeezed my breasts I could get a little colostrum out, never experienced that with my 1st. So I found that Madela sells a colostrum collecting kit so thought what the heck why not try. Well today was my 1st attempt and was able to get 3ml using my hand pump and colostrum collection kit. I was kind of shocked I was able to get that much especially since it was from one boob. The other boob hardly anything came out but I wasn’t really trying too much at that point since I got so much from the other. Just thought I would share in case someone else is considering collecting and considering the collection kit!
