Why are Farman books paid in US Southwest (TX), but free in Canada?

Just curious if anyone knows why the US Southwest Council charges for Farman books, while ITREB Canada gives them out for free?

Is it just a local ITREB budget thing, or is there a specific regional policy behind it? Would love to know if anyone has insight into how this works!

Disappointed by the favoritism at Vancouver Didar

Just wanted to share a quick observation from the Vancouver Didar. How did Saida (Firoz Rasul’s wife) end up assigned to a duty right near the MHI stage?

She isn't even a regular uniformed volunteer, yet she was given a spot that easily could have and should have gone to a dedicated young volunteer who puts in the hours week after week.

Both Firoz and Saida already get more than enough opportunities to be close to MHI.

Seeing someone step in and take a prime duty away from deserving, long-serving youth is really disappointing.

As the saying goes: naam bade, darshan chote.

EDIT: If anyone here knows Saida or is in touch with her, please let her know and will be glad to hear her version.

Will SPTM/SPHQ and active ETFs get forced into hype IPOs like SpaceX?

How would funds like SPTM and SPHQ actually handle major future IPOs (e.g., SpaceX, OpenAI, Anthropic once public)?

Do broad market ETFs end up holding these mainly due to index inclusion rules, even if valuations are stretched at IPO?

And for active ETFs like DFUS or AVUS, is there generally more caution around buying into high-valuation IPOs, or do they eventually just gain exposure as positions scale?

I’m considering trimming 100% SPTM in my non taxable account (about 40% of my portfolio) and reallocating toward SPHQ and possibly some active funds like DFUS or AVUS , mainly to avoid being too exposed to IPO-driven hype cycles.

Appreciate any insights on how this typically plays out in practice?
