Has anybody experienced this? Does it have a name?

Hi. I'm doing it for the first time so I'm not sure how to put my thoughts into words, but I'll try.

Do you ever put an idea in your head and stick to it, even if you realize it's stupid and you can break out of it any moment but you just... don't?

As an example, I had this idea that I only eat bird meat and nothing else from meats. Not in a vegetarian way or whatever chicken-only-eaters are called, I just planted an idea in my head that I MUST stick to it without any external pressure or idealogical beliefs. For quite a while I couldn't even stand looking at dishes made out of beef or pork and thought of consuming it made me nauseous. And it's not like I can't eat it at all or am scared of it, it's just a mental block I had for whatever reason.

Now after approximately 1 or 1,5 years I started eating beef, even if it's not something I would cook on my own. Still can't eat pork though, unless it's mixed with something.

And if it's important - yes, I am a picky eater, but foods isn't the only thing I get these "ideas I should stick to" with. It's just the most "vivid" one.

So, I wanted to ask if anybody experienced this? Does it even have a name? Should I be conserned at all? I'm curious.
