New FPV Pilot, next drone recommendation

EDIT: Did more research, it sounds like this might be what I'm looking for:

Flywoo Explorer , set up with a DJI goggles 3 and a radio of some sort.

Hello all, I have just recently got into FPV drones. I have flown a couple of basic drones in the past but never really got into it. I just picked up a BetaFPV Aquila 20 HD Kit. I know everyone's going to have different opinions on what first drone I should have got and I've seen a lot of people talking I should have built my own with a better radio and headset, etc, but this is what I got and it's what I was interested in starting on.

I've been flying it for about a week and I'm getting fairly decent, I've played a lot of flight/space simulation games in the past so the skill set seems to be transferring pretty well. The biggest thing that I've been running into is controlling the altitude of the drone. Sometimes it seems to get away from me and it's difficult to kill thrust enough to not have it drop like a stone, but from what I read these drones really shouldn't be going up to high anyways in the wind. But I'm working on it in simulators as well.

What I'm finding though is that I'm not as interested in what mini woops seem to be designed for, Crazy stunts and fast movement. I'm finding myself want to fly more and explore while still maintaining some decent speed and maybe doing some weaving around buildings and trees. But I also wishing there was a way to switch to like a hover mode that would let me focus less on flying and more on the environment. What I'm wondering is what I can do for my next drone. I'm interested in the following:

  • Decent distance, up to one mile would be preferable.
  • Decent battery time, 15 plus minutes would be great.
  • Good camera and filming abilities , good FPV picture, so assuming digital
  • Still able to go 40 plus miles an hour and do some entertaining acrobatics, not flips or stuff like that. If I am up getting into that more I'll purchase a drone that's specific for that.
  • EDIT *Doing more research... this isn't possible. Longer flights need bigger batteries = more weight. Not sure if it's possible but I'd prefer to stay under the 250g limit here in the US, so I don't have to register and get a license or whatever. If that's required that's something I can look into down the line.
  • GPS and/or return home option. I've almost lost my Aquila already a couple of times after hitting something, I know this will get better the more sim time I put into it.
  • Something that's repairable but still durable would be preferable as well, I'm mechanically inclined and have built RC cars in the past.

I don't want to say money's not really an obstacle but I'm fine with paying a decent amount for something good.

And obviously I know I would need a different set of goggles and a new radio, any recommendation for something that's going to be good for a while on both of those. The Aquila is going to be its own thing.

I've been researching a bunch, but there's SO many options for each part. I would love to have guidance on where to start with what parts, or if there's a pre-built done that would fit my needs or could be modified to do so.

And if what I'm looking for is outside of what is available now (or we have access to here in the US as I'm reading that China has like 3 generations ahead of us and are banned here) then let me know that as well.

Thanks all, appreciate the read.

PS, if there's anyone here from Central Texas, I'm just south of Austin and would be interested in any groups or people who like to fly together.
