I (36M) from the US, am in love with another male (33) from the UK, and I need some direction.
The title is the basis. Our relationship is mostly online, but we have visited each other and have been together since before the before 2020 times. I need direction because we are planning for me to move to the UK to live with him in the next couple of years. I’m out to most of the people I know, but my big problem is my parents. I do not have the best relationship with them and while I’ve been working on myself through therapy, I haven’t gotten the courage to tell them my plans yet. There are also problem concerning internal homophobia and other therapy things, but I feel like I could be out and enjoy my life with him if I could clear this hurdle.
Does anyone have any advice or direction? Has anyone left the US to be with someone in the UK or another country?
