The current philosophy around mount drops is diabolical

I know people say transmog is endgame but for me (and i’m sure many others), mount collection is king. I don’t know anything else that triggers a rush of dopamine than a new mount hitting my bags and the rarity addon flashing an achievement. But the current state of attaining most of the mounts in midnight so far is very daunting, and I assume it will only get worse.

First let’s start with the 8 mounts attached to every rare in midnight, 2 in each respective zone. I’m at over 1500 attempts and I’ve only seen one. This is…harrowing to say the least. People are reporting a 1 in 500…a 0.2% drop chance? For reference, shadowlands rares have around a 5% drop chance for their mounts like nerissa heartless and hopebreaker, and if shadowlands game design makes yours look bad, please reevaluate.

Then we get to the grinding mounts (such as siesbarg from TWW and Alunira) which are just turn your brain off and farm for hours. 500 mysterious skyshards from harandar has people resetting t1 delves for hours, which is tedious and mindnumbing. I doubt many people even know of the ritual site mount where you need the recipe to drop for a leatherworker and the broken lynx leash to craft, which people are saying is also under 1%, and the most efficient way to go for this is to rush tier 1 ritual sites over and over for hours on end. How is this any fun?

Blizzard please reevaluate the drop rates of mounts so we can actually have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting any of these mounts without spending hours of mindless tier 1 resetting and waiting for 40 rares a day to spawn.
