Advice on easing parental nerves while going on testosterone?

Hi all!

Recently went on T (one month! woo!) and have let my parents know about this. While they support me and love me inside and out, they have expressed a lot of concrete aversion and disagreement with me taking gel.

I understand their concern, and could imagine how your child taking hormones as a young adult could feel worrisome. I just want to have a couple points and discussions that could ease their tension on the matter.

Their main worries are that A. It will interfere with my college that they are paying for, and cause more chaos/failure in an already difficult stage of education, and B. It will very negatively affect my hormonal levels and cycles by making me a basket case, a medical mess, etc etc.

I’ve reassured them that I’m starting low dose, and taking my time in the process while finding a therapist during my transition.

Is there anything else that others have brought up/talked through with their parents that made them more receptive to the idea of testosterone?
