[discussion] Is it typical for an R&R to ask for minor line level changes?

I was very excited to receive this opportunity (and still am) as the agent said she didn’t have time to do these edits with me but i sent a message to other agents letting them know I’ll be doing this and I’ve heard back from all but one of the others and the consensus was the below

•I’m enjoying it I’ll get back to you (this week or next)

•we don't worry about line level changes, we’re looking at premise and writing

•line changes aren’t a big deal but if it makes you feel better send it over

•”that’s a very interesting ask for this stage” I think I’ll keep going!

I didn’t give exact phrasing because, well, I’m not looking to broadcast who I am for any lurkers lol but I’m just curious what you think! The agent who offered the R&R is an agent I’d love to work with and who seemed very eager to work with me on our call as well so I plan to still do it for her. if anything, if these fulls fall through, if someone else offers, or if the agent who offered the R&R declines, it’ll be tighter and that can’t hurt.

if anyone is curious about my process, I utilize 2-3 trusted CPs and 2-3 betas each time I make big revisions before submitting. I have done my best on a line edit, replacing passive voice, rephrasing for conciseness, removing repetitive stuff, spag, filter words, etc. but I’m certainly no professional and don’t doubt it needs a more professional pass.
