Divorced with Payments
I divorced a few years ago and my ex and I have a payment arrangement that is going to go on FOREVER. I want to find a way to have the IRS set us up separately with each taking 1/2 the debt. Yes, that's on my divorce decree. I now get a pretty nice bonus and want to see if the IRS would take an OIC to just pay it off. I tried calling my local office for an appointment and every day, the recording tells me they don't take calls over the phone and there are no appointments available and hangs up on me. Last year, I tried calling an 800 number and was put in a que to speak to someone about splitting up the debt and once I had been on hold for exactly 60 minutes, the system disconnected me. This happened twice. How can I go about getting this resolved without loosing my mind?
