2015 Honda Civic EX — No power at all, scanner shows MICU not detected

My 2015 Honda Civic EX completely died on me. The car does absolutely nothing when I try to start it — no dash lights, no sounds, nothing. The only thing that powers on is the message that says “press brake, clutch and start button to start.”
I took it to a Honda dealership and after months of having it, they replaced the Keyless Control Unit. It worked for one day — the car died while I was driving it and hasn’t started since.
An auto electrician came to my house, connected his scan tool, and got a message saying the MICU (Multiple Integrated Control Unit) is not detected.
He wants me to get a replacement MICU to see if that’s the problem, but I don’t want to spend money on a new MICU if mine is actually fine and something else is causing it not to be detected.
Things I’ve already tried:
• Checked fuses
• Battery is fully charged
• Disconnected and reconnected MICU connectors
• Cleaned the connectors
What happened when the mechanic connected his scan tool:
The mechanic was able to start the car using his scan tool. However, after that, the start button stopped working completely. To turn the car off he had to put it in first gear and stall it with the clutch. So now not only does the MICU not get detected, but the start/stop button no longer works either.
My question is: how can I confirm whether my MICU is actually bad, or if there’s another reason the scanner isn’t detecting it? And could the start button issue be related?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
