Based on your experience, what happens when the wound vac is no longer needed? They remove it and what is the next step? How long did it take for the wound to finally heal? I am talking about the large vac used on open wounds.

How much longer do I have to use the wound vac?

This is the incision after an abdominal hernia repair. I have used the wound vac for 2 weeks now and it's driving me insane. I hate having to carry it around. My doctor doesn't want to tell how much longer it will be. Has anyone gone thru something similar?
