Pure tech
I bought a 2013 Peugeot 208 allure with 1.2 pure tech under the hood and 100.000km. Got the check engine light after something like 2 weeks of use. The seller said it’s not his problem so I gave it to a mechanic who gave me a preventive of 3000euro.
The mechanic said he has to replace nearly every part of the engine, I waited for something like 3 months because he couldn’t find the right pieces.
After 3 months, my mechanic managed to build everything back but during the tests, the engine made some strange beats. It turned out that the head of the engine also needed to be replaced so I currently still waiting for my car which is in the garage since February (it’s already June).
Can someone explain me what’s going on and if it’s normal for a pure tech engine repair? This is my first car and I hardly know what is an engine head and definetly ignore why it should be replaced in a pure tech…
