Urea only caused my sex?
Hi everyone, so about 2 years ago, I had mycoplasma and it was the worst thing in the world. I tried everything and what got rid of it was minoxycline, but I don’t think I would ever take it again because it made me extremely sick.
Anywho, I went to my gyno for a check up and I ended up tested by positive for U. Urealyticum DNA. I was completely blind sided by this as I’ve been tested maybe 40 times since my mycoplasma situation, the last time I got tested for ureaplasma was back in February-March I believe, I got this result in June. I’ve had the same partner for about 2 years and he is negative as well, but when I got this results back my gyno implied that my partner had to be unfaithful, but idk. I genuinely was surprised because I always felt like a little uneasy but I assumed it was cause of consistent utis and actually when I was told that, I was starting to feel okay.
I’ve had a lot of uti problems since the mycoplasma negative result but I saw that ureaplasma isn’t only caused by sex, when I looked it up.
I took 2 weeks of doxycycline followed by the azi (2.5g I think in total). I haven’t gotten tested yet and it’s been over 3 weeks but I plan to.
Anywho, I’m not sure if I’m cured but nonetheless, I’m confused. Is this true about it being only sexually transmitted?
And if if not negative from the doxycycline and azi- what are the other options besides moxi(which I’m allergic to) and mino?
Is it worth it to do 21 days of doxy and azi?
