Hey all,
I’ve got a SMEG 50’s style kettle in the matte champagne finish and unfortunately the coating has started to chip/flake a bit 😕 Not from anything extreme, just normal use.
I’m thinking of asking for a replacement but switching to the stainless steel version instead.
For anyone who has the stainless steel one:
- Is it easy to maintain day to day?
- Does it stay looking good or does it dull / change colour over time?
- Are fingerprints and water marks a big issue?
Basically trying to figure out if it’ll age better than the coated versions or if it has its own downsides.
Would really appreciate any real-world experience before I decide what to swap to 🙏
