Should I be worried?
I have breast pain without any lumps that radiates to my chest, throat and ribs area. The radiologist told me they can’t perform an ultrasound if I have no lumps instead they performed a mammogram…
This is the outcome
MG 2D Bilat and 3D Bilat
C006025947MOM
MG 2D Bilat and 3D Bilat
INDICATION:
Left breast pain/lump.
COMPARISON STUDY:
None. Baseline study.
DENSITY:
ACR Breast Density: Category C: The breasts are heterogeneously dense, which may obscure small masses.
FINDINGS:
The patient denies a focal area of pain and denies a palpable abnormality.
There is a complaint of relatively diffuse bilateral breast pain. Therefore. bilateral mammogram and bilateral breast tomosynthesis were performed.
This is a baseline mammogram. The breasts are noted to be of heterogeneous density bilaterally. There are no dominant mass lesions, distortion of tissue architecture, or suspicious microcalcifications within either breast. In addition, no significant persistent abnormality is seen on tomosynthesis of the breasts.
Targeted ultrasound examination was not performed.
OPINION:
No mammographic evidence of malignancy. No significant persistent abnormality seen within either breast on tomosynthesis. For prudence, bilateral mammogram is recommended in 6 months.
BI-RADS 3: Probably Benign
Follow-up imaging recommended. This will be arranged by our office and the patient contacted with an appointment.
