Hi, I have back to back appoints to pick up my STAG 5 certificate and to apply for passport and ID Card, would I be able to get a few documents copy certified to do the foreign birth application, or do I need a 3rd appointment?

I saw a few posts, but I can't find them anymore. I have completed StAG 5 and obtained my certificate. If I want to apply for a birth certificate under 36 PStG, what documentation do I need to submit? And do they have to be apostilled and/or translated?
Context - StAG 5 through my grandmother who was born in Germany (Mom & I were born in USA)
I have an appointment next week to pick up my certificate and apply for my passport/ID Card! So excited.
Will the consulate allow me to keep the certificate and simply send a certified copy of my STAG 5 certificate? Or will they send the original.
I would like to have multiple certified copies of that just for safe keeping along with the original.
