How valuable is an MSc in Business Analytics in the UK vs continuing my APM role?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently working as an Associate Product Manager with a stable role and good learning exposure.

I’m considering a Master’s in Business Analytics in the UK/Scotland to strengthen my data skills, but I’m unsure if it’s the right move.

Key questions:

  1. Is it worth doing in the UK/Scotland?
  2. Will it significantly improve career growth or salary?
  3. Can it help someone get into Product Management at the start?
  4. Or should I just keep gaining experience and learn analytics on the side?

Would love honest advice on this.

Thanks!

Should I go for MSc business analytics in UK or continue my job

Hey everyone,

I’m currently working as an Associate Product Manager, and things are pretty stable right now. I’ve been gaining solid experience in product management, working with cross-functional teams, handling feature requirements, and contributing to product decisions and want to build a career in product management.

Lately, I’ve been considering pursuing a Master’s in Business Analytics, specifically in the UK/Scotland, to strengthen my data skills and potentially open up better opportunities in the future. But I’m a bit conflicted.

On one hand, I already have a stable role with good learning exposure. On the other, I feel a formal degree in analytics could help me level up, especially in data-driven decision-making and long-term career growth.

A few things I’m trying to figure out:

  1. Is a Master’s in Business Analytics worth it in the UK/Scotland?
  2. Will it significantly boost my career prospects or salary in the long run?
  3. Would this degree help me get into a Product Management role at the start if I didn’t already have one?
  4. Or is it better to continue gaining experience and learn analytics skills on the job / through courses?

Would really appreciate honest advice on this.

Thanks!
