Recently I had a basic fare booked from Vegas to Nashville, the original booking was the last flight out that day(red eye). Checked in the night before and was assigned the middle seat in the next to last row ugh, the day of the flight I kept checking my flights status and about 6h before the flight I noticed my flight was delayed by only 7 minutes. This allowed my basic fare to be changed free of charge to any other flight that day. Luckily I found another flight that took off a few hours before my original. I quickly changed it to the earlier departing flight and to my surprise I was assigned an aisle seat in the middle of the plane. What a blessing this was. I hope this can help others in the future.
