[NEWBIE, HELP NEEDED!] "Building" my first wardrobe ever. Any tips?
I might be having an existential crisis, so I apologize in advance if anything sounds off. I really appreciate you if you can provide any tips or info!
In short: I just turned 29 and had the realization that I’ve basically dressed like crap most of my adult life and I’m in dire need of help. Mainly due to being poor and having money problems from pretty much the moment I graduated.
In slightly longer: I'm looking to build a wardrobe for pretty much the first time in my life and I'm hoping if anyone has any tips on building and maintaining a wardrobe - and where to shop.
I've been digging through Reddit and Youtube and figured out I'm mostly interested from purchasing from Chinese vendors (i.e. I found brands like Union Kingdom having pretty decent, high quality basics) and just very basic stuff that's not too flashy. I'm also a deep winter color thingy (according to both ChatGPT and Claude lol) so basics are definitely the way to go.
For the last 2 years I pretty much just defaulted to the most minimal stuff, which in summer for me is 2 pairs of runners shorts and 5~6 t-shirts. That's literally my may~september wardrobe.
I’m also about 2–3 months away from hitting my target weight, and thinking about what I actually want to wear in a really long time.
Any help is really appreciated!
