We owned this car two years.
For the 3rd time in a 5 weeks my wife’s Formentor has refused to acknowledge the keyfob and left her locked out.
Each time a new battery was fitted.
Shes taken to carrying spare batteries with her because the car can’t be trusted
Cupra Leicester had the car a few times for brakes, infotainment faults, a service and something else I forget.
Dealerships been putting VW supplied replacements every time it’s been in.
Each time they noted Key battery
I thought it was BS to fluff the bill to warranties people…
Both keys have had new batteries and been recoded at dealership.
(FWIW I think they replaced the keys once and didn’t tell her)
Despite its squeaky brakes, random mechanical pinging sounds under the dash and absolutely awful glitches she really likes the car but this has left her unimpressed.
We’re taking my Golf to the airport in July because our £30k Cupra can’t be trusted to start after a week.
Sooooo has anyone experienced Keyfobs randomly depleting their batteries ?
I think the key must be faulty but both keys have done it.
Any TSB’s re keys ?
