Hi bitches!
I’ve been feeling more and more uninspired in my stressful, but well-paying 9-5 and believe I would be more suited for a hands-on career in the beauty field. I’ve been entertaining the idea of entering the PMU (permanent makeup) business, maybe starting with eyebrow microblading and also offering lash lifts. However, I looked into the cost of a beginner course from a local PMU artist in NYC whose work I’d love to emulate, and it feels like a big investment ($5.5k) for something that may not even pan out.
I’d love to hear if anyone has pursued something similar (doesn’t have to be PMU specifically— career pivots into hair, nails, esthetics also welcome!) and how that has looked for them, especially in NYC, where it’s hyper competitive and also very expensive to live.
Many thanks in advance! 💕
