Platform(s): Browser / Adobe Flash. I most likely played it on Czech Flash game portals like superhry.cz, mojehry.cz, or possibly something similar.
Genre: 2D side-scrolling platformer / runner. Sonic-the-Hedgehog-style — character runs to the right through loops and obstacles. Not a true endless runner — it was just a few short screens that repeated in a loop rather than one continuous level.
Estimated year of release: Mid-2000s, roughly 2005–2008.
Graphics/art style: Cartoony 2D Flash sprite art, fairly bright and colorful. The main character was small on screen. The anime girl in the background (see below) was drawn in a noticeably different style than the rest of the game — much bigger than the player character and clearly didn't fit visually.
Notable characters: I have a strong feeling the player character was Sonic the Hedgehog (or at least a Sonic-style character), but I'm not 100% sure. The most distinctive character in my memory is actually a background one: an anime-style girl who appeared lounging/sitting in the background of one of the screens. She felt completely out of place and was way too big compared to the player. I have a feeling she was somehow connected to the music — possibly the singer/mascot of the song that played in the game.
Notable gameplay mechanics:
- Run to the right, jump over obstacles, go through loops
- Collect points/rings as you go
- Once you had enough points, you could press a "nitro" / turbo button and the character would zoom through the course at high speed
- The level wasn't continuous — it was just a handful of short screens that repeated in a loop
Other details: The music is what I remember most vividly — it was very loud, upbeat, techno-style, and I absolutely loved it as a kid. I have a feeling the music and the anime girl in the background were connected somehow (maybe she was the artist/mascot of the song, or from the music video, dropped into the game as decoration). If anyone remembers a Flash game where someone slapped a popular techno or anime song onto a Sonic-like engine, that might be the lead.
