HRs and Corporate Folks, Do you think studying from Baby IIMs like IIM BG, Sirmaur, Sambalpur, Jammu, Amritsar gives advantage in career and shortlisting post MBA?

Or one should choose non IIMs in tier 2 with better ROI but in a Niche like Finance, Marketing, International Business, Rural, Sustainability or HR and not core MBA?

Will the niche degree and non IIM Tag be comparatively less advantageous compared to a baby IIM Tag while switching or demanding salary? On a comparative basis. In long term.

I want to understand the corporate outlook towards different candidate profile and how really tag impacts and how things work?

I am not interested in knowing anyone’s salary

  1. Your B School Name, if you can’t name it no issue.

  2. The year you completed your MBA

  3. Your work domain

  4. At what cumulative % or CAGR your salary grew

  5. Which Domains post MBA from tier 2 has best growth and career outcome.

  6. Is sales and Marketing in FMCG sector a good domain to work post mba for someone with Finance Background.

  7. Any suggestion or Experience you would like to share?

It won’t be true for everyone obviously, but do you agree or has anyone felt the same?

The interview that you might feel was good, was good maybe because the interviewer didn’t like you to begin with and kept questions simple and interview conversational.

The Interview that you felt went bad, was maybe because they really liked you and they tested you a bit more with difficult and tricky questions. And if you took that interview even with 70% accuracy let’s say, the interviewers scored you well.
