Found abandoned as an infant near a forgotten woodland shrine outside Baldur’s Gate, Elaria was raised by Vaelor, a retired elven Painbearer who taught her that true holiness lies in carrying the suffering of others. Within the quiet sanctuary of druids and wounded creatures, she grew deeply connected to the spirits of the forest, able to feel pain, grief, and decay as if they were her own. During her First Suffering, a violent forest spirit awakened after desperate loggers invaded sacred land, and Elaria sacrificed herself through an ancient rite to absorb the spirit’s wrath and save both sides from slaughter. The ritual left a scar along her face, transformed one of her arms with spectral nature magic, and crowned her with antlers like the ancient guardians of old. Since then, she has wandered the realms as a mysterious druid healer known as the Elf Druid of the Emerald Veil, carrying the burdens of both mankind and the wilds alike.
