Seattle food scene moves fast… how do you actually save places you see online?
Hey everyone,
I’m based in Seattle and I recently shipped an app on the App Store that came out of a pretty annoying personal habit:
I keep seeing great Seattle food spots, cafes, and random hidden gems on TikTok / Instagram Reels (like those “best ramen in Capitol Hill” or “new dessert place in Fremont” type videos)… but I realized I never actually have a good system for saving them.
It usually turns into screenshots, saved posts, or just… disappearing into the void.
So I built something to fix that:
- Takes a TikTok / Instagram link
- Extracts the locations mentioned in the video
- Lets you save them into a shared map or list for planning with friends
What I’m really curious about (especially in Seattle):
- Do people already have a system for saving places they discover on social media?
- Or is it still mostly screenshots / notes / saving posts?
- Would something like this actually fit into how you plan food/trips, or is it unnecessary?
Would appreciate honest thoughts, especially from people who like to explore food spots around Seattle.
