Crosscut sled t track hold down positioning
I'm installing t track hold downs for my cross cut sled and am debating where to place the track. I have adjustable slides, and the holes for adjustment (visible here) limit where I can put the track. If I go outside of the holes, the hold downs are too far from the blade for finer work. If I go inside the holes I land as seen in the image. While I like the close proximity, I'm a little uneasy about metal running that close to the blade.
- Am I being paranoid and this is fine even though it feels wrong?
- should I do this but try to find plastic (or make wooden) hold downs instead?
- I suppose I could put the track over the holes and remove small sections for the holes... But that's annoying and starts to get far anyway.
What have others here done?
