Recruiters calling at an inconvenient time

A company posted a job offer on 28th June, I applied same day for the role and they reviewed my application on 29th. Then on the same day they gave me a call on Monday at 6PM, I was busy with the Family so my phone wasn’t on me at the time. They called back again on Wednesday at 1:30PM this time I picked up, they asked if it’s a suitable time I clearly said yes but asked for a minute to step into a quiet room because the area I live in (Sharjah) is filled with constructions recently so I needed to step away from the noise. He replied saying it’s fine goodbye and hung up. Like seriously wtf?

It’s been three days since. Is it a red flag telling recruiters to give you some time? They call unscheduled and assume you’ll be in the perfect position to pick up a call and go through a phone screening/interview every time? Like wtf?

Should I assume that my chances are over here or? Would love some insight especially from those working in HR/recruitment. Thank you

Security Clearance Failed (Half the Story)

This was in November 2024, I'm of Sudanese Nationality. I understand political tensions between countries are all time right now, but I'm desperate for employment and have been considering re-submitting my application. Applicant's are typically allowed to re-apply six month's post-rejection to allow system logs to clear up.

My question is, has anybody here perhaps working at HR, a recruiter, fellow Sudanese, of a country with similarly high political tensions etc. applied in the last 6-8 months to a Government sector and passed the security clearance stage? Or perhaps a recruiter/HR here who had successfully managed to hire employee's of exact or any similar nationality? (Sudanese, South Asian, Levantine et.), or knowledge of any friends of said nationalities that got in recently.

Would I face any similar hindrances in semi-governmental j*bs? Also would it be worth the hassle to re-apply or is it best to completely withdraw all focus from Governmental sectors right now? Thank you all in advance.

I've been really struggling to find a job and I'm slowly giving up

Hey guys I'm a 20 year old Sudanese guy I only have a high school diploma but I assume that's not an issue for most entry level jobs. I have been searching for a job (on and off) for the past 3 years and couldn't land one yet. My only experiences are in sales, community services, school events organization and usher jobs. Including school competitions if such things matter. But no experience in any stable jobs or full time opportunities.

I have tried applying to over hundreds of companies companies through all sites, but mainly Indeed and LinkedIn. I managed to land about 4 interviews and I actually passed 2 of them, one was through a referral and the other was through linkedin, both were customer service/call center roles, but then I couldn't get past the security clearance in one. My file is completely clean, and when I asked why, they told me it's because of my nationality. Many others of the same nationality were also rejected for the same reason at the time, so I assume it was related to the war conflict and escalating tensions in Sudan. The other 2 interviews were via HireVue, that I didn't pass. I even tried WhatsApp, Facebook and Telegram groups/threads but to no avail.

I will be honest I have lost motivation in recent months and I haven't been applying at the same rate or frequency as I usually do because I'm starting to feel hopeless. But I seriously need a job and I'm really looking for more experiences. Financial issues aside, I'd love to be productive whilst earning, learning new things and making new connections etc. but it's always a dead end.

I see most people my age and younger earning already but it's mostly under their parents. But it makes me feel even more hopeless. I'm mainly looking for entry level jobs, is it really competitive? Or am I doing something wrong? Is there really no way to find a job without connections/Wasta here? I'm desperate and I don't know what to do (posting on reddit must have gave that away already).

I'd just like help on what I could do more to land more opportunities and please don't hold back I don't mind criticism or being harsh if it will help me land a job. I do believe that I've done enough to land a job but I'm also aware that I can always do more and I can always improve. Apologies for the long post, and I'm assuming this sub receives such posts frequently, if that's the case apologies for the repetitive forum.

How do I spend my resources?

Do I upgrade different cards for more diversity? Though it would cap most of them at level 14-15 or do I focus on maxing specific cards?

I’m at 13.9k with 2 towers level 16 (princess and dagger girl) 25 cards maxed out, best season ultimate champion 1600, lvl 76. I have 16 evo shards unused, 8k gems, 25 Evos fully unlocked. It’s a 5 year old account.

Would this actually sell? And for how much?
